Already known for their dazzling collections that effortlessly elevate wallpaper to high art, Nick and Rachel Cope, the husband-and-wife duo behind Calico Wallpaper, have reached even greater heights at this year’s Milan Design Week. They find a confidante in British design doyenne Faye Toogood by translating her painterly prints of female figures into a breathtaking series neck-and-neck with the Brooklyn-based studio’s career-defining works but with half a decade’s worth of refinement, exploration, and joie de vivre packed into it.
