Calico Wallpaper for Swarovski at Design Miami/ 2019

Calico Wallpaper is launching a bespoke wallpaper collection, Paradiso, during Miami Art Week in Swarovki’s booth at Design Miami/.

Paradiso was originally created as the architectural intervention for Swarovski’s booth, which celebrates the company’s commitment to sustainability. The booth is made up of two distinct environments – one, grounded by a design based on Calico Wallpaper’s existing Sumi collection, which offers an illusion of water’s movement, in a custom dark blue colorway; and the other, Paradiso, a new wallpaper comprised of oversized banana leaves in dark green.

Paradiso‘s design is bold and bright, based on original, hand-painted artworks that nod to the iconic motif in the Fountain Room at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The style on display is immediately available for purchase as a mural and new colorways will follow in 2020.

Rachel Cope, co-founder of Calico Wallpaper, said, “We are honored to have the opportunity to work with Swarovski on such a grand scale. The banana leaf motif was created with hand-painted leaves that we transformed into a custom mural for Swarovski.”
